June 2009: 3rd
Annual Day Celebrated
HOPE Qatar
celebrated its third annual day in front of capacity audience with a
spell binding performance of talents by children. H.E. Deepa Gopalan
Wadhwa, the Indian Ambassador to Qatar was the chief guest. A large
number of dignitaries from various embassies including Romania, Nepal,
Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand among others.

June 2009:
Prizes awarded for inter school creative writing contest on Mothers
Prize and certificates
were awarded to the participants and winners of the inter school
creative writing contest on Mothers conducted jointly by HOPE Qatar and
Friends of HOPE along with

Interns from India
HOPE Qatar received
two students from leading institutes in India who came to HOPE for their
internships.

March 2009:
Student wins National Level prize in contest
Stevin Mathew our
student beat over 3500 contestants to reach the final round of the
National Level contest organized by Doha International Institute of
Family Studies, receiving honorable mention among the 10 finalists and
being selected as 'An Artist of the Year'. His
work will tour many art centers and museums in Qatar.

Agricultural Farm visit by Students and Families
HOPE took the students
and families on a educational trip to Al Sulaiteen Farms on the
outskirts of Doha further strengthening its classroom without walls

HOPE Triumphs says the
special full page feature published by Qatar Tribune English Newspaper,
highlighting HOPE's achievements for its children over the years.

Feb 2009:
HOPE Students participate in ICC Republic day cultural show
HOPE Qatar's students
put up a skit about the freedom struggle in India using a unique black
and white theme accompanied by sound and video clippings, winning their
way into the hearts of the audience.

Jan 2009:
Ambassador's farewell visit to HOPE
H.E. Dr. George Joseph
ambassador of India visited HOPE along with Mr. Sanjiv Kohli, Minister
at the embassy and bid farewell to the students and teachers of HOPE for
which he was the Patron. Mr. Juma Ismail, sponsor of HOPE and other
members of the HOPE advisory board team were present.

Nov 2008:
Qatar Foundation Photography Contest
HOPE Qatar
participated in the photography contest organized by Student Services
Division in Qatar Foundation. Its entry was selected as one of the
finalists and exhibited in the Education City.

Sports Day Celebration
HOPE Celebrated its
first sports day at its new premises with both the students and teachers
joining in. Prizes were awarded to the winners by Advisory Board members
who graced the occasion.

Nov 2008:
Founding Members meet Indian Prime Minister
Adv. Nizar Kochery and
Mr. Rajeev Thomas, founding members of HOPE Qatar met with the Indian
Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh during his visit to Qatar. The Prime
Minister was briefed about HOPE's activities and handed over a HOPE
Souvenir booklet.

October 2008:
Letter of Appreciation from United Nations Special Rapporteur received
Dr. Ciby Mathew
received on behalf of HOPE Qatar, a letter of appreciation from the
United Nations Special Rapporteur for disabilities, in appreciation of
the efforts of HOPE towards the equalization of opportunities for the
disabled children.

Inauguration of HOPE's new premises
New premises of HOPE
Qatar is formally inaugurated in a ceremony attended by well wishers and
invitees.

UN Conference on Disability
HOPE Advisory board
member Rajeev Thomas attended UN conference on disability hosted by the
Supreme Council for Family Affairs.

June 2008:
HSBC Bank support for HOPE's new premises
HSBC Bank Qatar
provided a major boost to HOPE's infrastructure fund by sponsoring a new
premises for a period of one year. This will enable classes to be
conducted from a larger and more customized facility.

Edutainment trip and activities
Various programs that provide Education and Entertainment were held
throughout the term. Included painting, drawing, baking, etc and visits
to play areas as in the picture

May 2008:
2nd Annual Day Celebration
HOPE Qatar celebrated
two years in service of children with special needs. The function was
attended by Sheikha Hissa Bint Khalifa Al Thani, the UN Rapporteur for
Special Needs as the special guest; along with an array of dignitaries
from various Asian countries, in front of an appreciative audience at
the ICC Hall. more

QAFCO Flower and Vegetable Show 2008
HOPE students
participated in the 2008 QAFCO flower and vegetable show. Their entry
was created with vegetables depicting the theme of 'Global Warming'.

CMUQ Internship : Its not that simple
Carnegie Mellon
University Qatar students completed their internship program at HOPE
under the title program "Its not that simple". HOPE was presented a
plaque in appreciation of its support to CMUQ which is a member of the
Qatar Foundation's Education City.

Visit by Indian Women’s Association Qatar
IWA Qatar team led by
its President Mrs. Seetha Krishnan visited HOPE and spent time
interacting with the children and teachers. Various other community
organizations are joining hands with us.

HOPE Presence at QAFCO Flower Show
Children from HOPE
Qatar participated in the QAFCO flower and vegetable show and competed
in regular category with this entry against other children from regular
schools. Demonstrating that they can do it too..

HOPE Celebrates FIRST ANNUAL DAY
HOPE marked its first
successful and eventful year in operation with colorful cultural display
by the children witnessed by dignitaries & guests. Dr. Saif Al
Hajari the Vice Chairperson of Qatar Foundation was the special guest.

Envoys Visit HOPE and pledge support
Ambassadors and
Envoys of various Asian Embassies in Qatar visited HOPE, interacted with
children and staff and pledged their support. They also awarded Stars
of HOPE certificates to the team.

Fun Day at Weill Cornell Medical College
WCMCQ students
council celebrated a Fun Day for the HOPE children at its premises in
Qatar Foundation Education City with various activities.

HOPE delegation led by the Indian Ambassador visited Shafallah Centre
for Special Needs and held discussions with Mr. Hassan Ali Bin Ali an
his team about mutual support and cooperation.

Rt.
Rev. Dr. Zacharias Mar Theophilus Suffragan Metropolitan, bishop of the
Malankara Marthoma Church visited and spent some time with the staff and
children at HOPE accompanied by Fr. Abey K Joshua, vicar of the Marthoma
Church Doha.

of HOPE Newsletter Launched
HOPE
achieved a new milestone by release of its first edition of the 'Ray of
HOPE' - its in house made newsletter, formally released by Dr. George
Joseph, the Ambassador of India.

Baking Cake activities
In bringing real life
experience to the class room, the children under the watchful eyes of
the teachers learned how to bake cakes, and they had a good time eating
it too.

Study tour to Al Ghadeer Cow Farm
Children, teachers and the parents of children visited the Al Ghadeer
cow farm on the outskirts of Qatar during a study tour.

December 2005: Evaluation camp
HOPE Conducts an evaluation camp at the
Indian Cultural Centre, screening over 30 children with various
developmental challenges. Camp was led by Parvathy Vishwanathan,
Director of AIKYA India, and inaugurated by Dr. George Joseph,
Ambassador of India.
